Tomato paste in Iran with a production capacity of 1 million and 300 thousand tons in 1395 has exported about 147 thousand tons worth 203 million dollars. The countries that consume Iranian tomato paste are Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia and Kazakhstan respectively.
The amount of tomato production in Iran is higher compared to the production of tomatoes in the world. The yield of tomato production in the world is 27 tons per hectare, while Iran produces 38 tons of tomatoes per hectare. Iran ranks ninth in the world in the export of tomato paste.
The largest producers of tomato paste in the world are China, India, Egypt, America, Turkey and Iran.

The biggest exporters and it can be said that our most important competitors in the export sector are the following countries: Italy, China, America, Spain, Portugal and Turkey. Azerbaijan is one of the consuming countries of Iranian tomato paste, which exports tomato paste to this country through border markets.
The most global consumption of tomatoes is not fresh, but in the form of tomato paste, which is one of the basic products for the production of ketchup, sauce, etc. which are combined with other ingredients such as spices, salt, sugar, vinegar and hydrocolloid to dilute and prepare new products and produce high consumption products in different packages.
