Tomato Paste Production Process in Brief
The process begins by carefully selecting and harvesting high-quality tomatoes. After harvesting, the tomatoes go through sorting and washing to remove any dirt or impurities. After cleaning, workers chop the tomatoes into smaller pieces to prepare them for cooking. The chopped tomatoes then undergo primary cooking, which helps break down the fruit and concentrate the flavor.
Next, workers filter the cooked tomatoes to remove skins and seeds, producing a smooth tomato juice concentrate. They then transfer this concentrate to formulation tanks, where they adjust it to achieve the desired consistency and quality.
After formulating, the process pasteurizes the tomato juice concentrate to kill any harmful microorganisms and ensure safety. The production team then fills cans with the pasteurized product and seals them tightly to preserve freshness. After filling, the cans undergo a second pasteurization to guarantee long shelf life.
Once pasteurization is complete, the cans pass under a cold water shower to cool them rapidly. Finally, the cans are labeled (ticketed) and packaged, ready for distribution to markets.
