Tomato paste production in Iran has seen significant growth, with a production capacity reaching 1.3 million tons in 1395. During this period, Iran exported about 147 thousand tons of tomato paste, valued at 203 million dollars. Key export destinations include Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan. With a higher tomato yield compared to the global average, Iran ranks ninth in the world for tomato paste exports, alongside major producers like China, India, and Egypt.

Export of tomato paste in Iran
The biggest exporters and our most important competitors in the export sector include Italy, China, America, Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. Azerbaijan is one of the consuming countries of Iranian tomato paste, which exports tomato paste to this country through border markets.
Tomatoes are most commonly consumed in the form of tomato paste, rather than fresh. In fact, tomato paste is a key ingredient in producing ketchup, sauces, and other products. Moreover, these products are mixed with spices, salt, sugar, vinegar, and hydrocolloids to create new items in various packages. As a result, tomato paste production in Iran plays a vital role in the global market, supplying large quantities of high-quality paste for diverse uses.

Problems of exporters:
-
High price
-
Increase in the price of product raw materials
-
Shipping and customs fees
Although Iran is one of the largest exporters of tomato paste after Turkey in the region, but in terms of the quality of tomato paste, Iran is higher than Turkey and this is a great honor.
